A Waffen SS EM/NCO’s Steel Belt Buckle Produced by Assmann, correctly marked “RZM 155/40 SS” 155 being the Assmann code and 40 (1940) the year of manufacture, 1940 was the first year that SS EM/NCO belt buckles were manufactured in steel, prior to 1940 buckles were manufactured in Nickel, after the steel produced buckles came the Aluminium and then late war they were manufactured in Zinc,
The steel buckle remains untouched and not polished with no repairs and has remains of the original paint on the front
